Since pre-season, Samuel Chukwueze has returned to his previous self and has been missing from the AC Milan team. However, this may not be the case for much longer, with Paulo Fonseca looking to rotate his team.

More than ever, footballers are struggling due to the extensive calendar, and whilst Milan have not struggled with the problem massively this season, they would enter a crisis if a few players began to overwork themselves due to the scheduling.

For this reason, and the fact that he has rarely rotated his starting eleven much, Paulo Fonseca will look to make a few changes against Udinese, and some people are deeming the game as a chance for the ‘reserves’.

Whilst this is an exaggeration of the situation, Fonseca has been criticised for ‘creating a split‘ within the squad due to his lack of changes, and he must reverse this quickly. Especially with a vital game in the Champions League awaiting them – his squad must be at their peak condition.

Due to this, Samuel Chukwueze looks likely to be given a place within the starting squad – even more so due to Christian Pulisic’s calendar – and for this reason, he has a chance to refind his confidence, as Milan News writes.

His chances have been infrequent – due to Pulisic’s red-hot form – so he must take this opportunity to prove himself. If he doesn’t, then the Rossoneri could begin to look at the mercato.
