MN: ‘Significant economic return’ – the Dinamo game worth almost €25m to Milan
AC Milan have all but secured a place in the Champions League top eight. It is not a done job though, and the Rossoneri have a substantial pot of money at stake.
The past six Champions League games have been largely phenomenal. Whilst Milan have struggled in Serie A, they have done superbly in Europe and for this reason, they are ready to claim a small fortune.
As Milan News write, the victory against Girona has put the Diavolo into a strong position in the European proceedings, and a ‘significant economic return’ now is very possible with only Dinamo Zagreb standing in their way.
This trip to Croatia is, of course, a must win, but it goes beyond the pitch.
Winning the game would see Milan pocket €2.1 million, in addition to the €10.5m already claimed from the five wins in the competition. It would ensure that the Rossoneri at least earn another €8.5m for qualification into the final 16.
This figure would rise based on the results of other teams. A fourth-place finish, which is the highest possible, would see that €8.5m rise to €9.075m. Furthermore, for entry into the top eight and access into the round of 16, the Rossoneri would pocket another €13m.
Of course, one game would not acquire all of these riches, it is based on the campaign. However, one game would decide it, and it could unlock moves in the mercato, given there is nearly €25m at stake.
