MN: ‘Closeness and encouragement’ – Ibrahimovic’s presence at Milanello
AC Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic was present at Milanello today, and the reason for his visit has been revealed in a report.
It has been a difficult month for the Rossoneri, and in many ways, it has been a difficult month for Ibrahimovic. The Swede’s decisions in the summer have been criticised, the coach he was a part of appointing has not succeeded so far and as a director he is also the target of some criticism.
However, it is important for him to keep his head clear, and continue in his role with his responsibilities only growing. Today, he has proven to do this with a visit to Milanello to speak with the team.
Earlier, it had been speculated that the Swede had confronted the team before training to rally them up for the game against Inter, but Milan News suggests it went very differently.
Instead of a confrontation, the former striker ‘encouraged and spurred on the players individually’ rather than giving a talk to the entire team. However, he did speak to some of the Diavolo’s leaders such as Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders.
It is also reported that he spoke to Paulo Fonseca, and the pair can be seen smiling in the training pictures even if there is a reported rift between them. This is vital, as it shows ‘a sign of closeness and strong encouragement’ to the outside world, and to the squad, which is much needed.
