MLB Player Justin Turner Has Perfect Response After Man Reveals He Met His Fiancée While Celebrating 2017 Dodgers Win
Seven years ago, the fan was celebrating Turner's three-run walk-off home run when his downstairs neighbor thought he was being attacked and ran to check on him
Thanks to MLB player Justin Turner (and the rest of the Dodgers), a baseball fan is engaged!
A man named Roland Au took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Dec. 23, to thank the former Dodgers fan favorite for playing a major role in his love story. Unbeknownst to Turner, if his 2017 walk-off home run didn't happen, Au might have never met his fiancée.
"On Oct. 15, 2017, I watched your walk-off in NLCS Game 2 in my dorm at Lafayette College," Au began, referring to the National League Championship Series (NLCS) match between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
He continued: "I was going so crazy that my downstairs neighbor thought I was being attacked and ran up. We started talking and seven years later, we’re engaged. It started with your walk-off."

At the time, Turner's three-run home run to center field in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Dodgers a 4-1 walk-off victory over the Cubs and a 2-0 lead in the NLCS.
Turner read Au's story, which included a sweet photo of the newly engaged couple, and decided to respond.
"Wow….Well you are welcome!!! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉," he wrote late at night on Dec. 23, retweeting the post.

Au's post comes not long after Turner reacted to being snubbed from ESPN Jeff Passan's tweet on Dec. 21, in which he posted who he thought were the best free agents at the first base position still available. Passan listed the first basemen who have secured contracts recently and highlighted the prominent players still on the market, but left Turner off the list.
In response, Turner posted a GIF of himself from his time on the Boston Red Sox in which he mouths "wow."
