MK Dons sign Crawley midfielder Williams
MK Dons have signed midfielder Jay Williams from Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old is reunited with boss Scott Lindsey, having played under him as Crawley won promotion from League Two last season.
Williams made 52 league appearances for Crawley - 12 of them this season - and scored one goal.
"He's a midfield general who will organise the team, bark at people, make tackles, get us up the pitch and press well - the stuff most players don't like doing," Lindsey told the club website.
"He trains and prepares like a demon. He's a leader and still very young. I think he'll be a great signing for MK Dons."
Mk Dons are 11th in League Two, six points outside the play-off places, ahead of Saturday's game at Carlisle United.
"I'm a pivot. I'm quite an aggressive presence in the middle of the park. But as much as I like a tackle, I enjoy opening up other teams and playing through the lines," said Williams, who has been part of the St Kitts & Nevis international squad, but is yet to win his first cap.
Details of his contract at Stadium MK have not been disclosed.
