Minsky’s Pizza + Joe’s Kansas City limited-edition pizza returns —with a gourmet twist

Two beloved local brands — Minsky’s Pizza and Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que — are teaming up on a gourmet pizza again.

But this one comes with a twist.

Previously they did widely popular limited-edition versions with three meats. This year Joe’s popular Z-Man sandwich will be “interpreted” as a gourmet pizza.

The Minsky’s + Joe’s BBQ Z-Man Pizza will be available at all 17 area Minsky’s Pizza Cafe & Bar locations starting Wednesday, while supplies last.

The pizza will have Joe’s special french fry seasoning, garlic butter and Joe’s barbecue sauce on Minsky’s original crust. Then it will be topped with Joe’s slow-roasted sliced beef brisket, Wisconsin mozzarella, provolone, onion rings and more barbecue sauce. It can only be ordered in the large size and comes with a side of pickles.

A portion of the sales will go to Joe’s KC Cares benefiting Operation Breakthrough and The University of Kansas Cancer Center.

Previous versions of the pizza were made with a choice of Minsky’s crust sprinkled with Joe’s french fry seasoning and topped with Joe’s barbecue sauce, Wisconsin mozzarella cheese and Joe’s slow-smoked brisket, pulled pork, and burnt ends.

In 2019, they planned to run the promotion for six weeks but sold out in three.
