Minnesota's Jimmy Snuggerud Among Big Ten Three Stars

Jimmy Snuggerud has been recognized for his efforts in Minnesota's weekend sweep at Wisconsin.

The junior forward was named Big Ten Hockey's First Star of the Week after recording four points in the Border Battle.

The St. Louis Blues draft pick led the comeback effort on Friday, scoring a pair of goals, including the go-ahead marker in the third period.

Snuggerud then picked up two assists on Saturday, including the primary helper on Brodie Ziemer's game-winning goal in overtime.

This marks Snuggerud's fifth Big Ten weekly award and his first this season.

Second Star: Trey Augustine (Michigan State)

Trey Augustine backstopped Michigan State to a weekend sweep over Ohio State this past weekend.

The sophomore netminder turned aside a combined 51-of-54 shots on net.

Augustine made 22 saves in the Spartans' 4-2 win on Friday night and turned around to stop 29-of-30 the following night.

The Detroit Red Wings draft pick owns the third-best goals-against average (1.57) and fourth-best save percentage (.941) among Big Ten goaltenders this season.

Third Star: Evan Werner (Michigan)

Werner collects his second Big Ten weekly honor after being named First Star last week.

The sophomore forward tallied three points in Michigan's weekend sweep over Notre Dame.

Werner registered a season-high eight shots on goal and found the back of the net in overtime in Friday's game.

The following night, he picked up the primary assist on Michael Hage's goal before scoring one himself.

After recording just one point in his first six games, Werner has five goals and seven points in four games this month.
