Minnesota Reaches The Summit Of PWHL Standings In Mile High Win
The Minnesota Frost sit alone at the summit of the PWHL standings after winning a head-to-head for first place against the Montreal Victoire. The 4-2 win in the Mile High City also took place in front of an American record crowd of 14,018.
Montreal's Catherine Dubois opened the scoring with her first of the season only 2:33 into the game to energize the large Denver crowd as Dara Greig found Dubois driving to the net.

Midway through the opening frame, Minnesota's Britta Curl-Salemme answered back with her fifth goal of the season. Heading into the second period, Minnesota fans breathed a sigh of relief as Sophie Jaques punctuated her return from an upper body injury scoring her first goal of the season, the go ahead marker on the power play.
It didn't last long however as Montreal capitalized on a power play of their own as Jennifer Gardiner rounded the net and got a lucky bounce off a Minnesota skate on her centering attempt that evaded Maddie Rooney.
The third period saw Minnesota takeover outshooting Montreal 10-4. Maggie Flaherty broke the deadlock in what would stand as the game winning goal, before Michela Cava picked a corner late in the game to provide Minnesota an insurance marker.

Minnesota now sits alone in first with 19 points on the season, while the Victoire have 17 points, with a game in hand. On the other end of the spectrum, the Toronto Sceptres fell further behind with only eight points on the year to sit last. They lost a controversial contest 1-0 in overtime today to the New York Sirens.
