Minnesota-Duluth's Klayton Knapp Named NCHC Rookie Of The Week

Minnesota-Duluth freshman goaltender Klayton Knapp has been named NCHC Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday.

Knapp, a product of Waterville, Ohio, made his fourth and fifth straight starts this past weekend, helping his team beat St. Cloud State twice. Over both games, Knapp only allowed two goals.

Over eight appearances this season, Knapp has produced a record of 3-2-1 to go along with a 2.08 GAA and a .915 SP. Prior to making the jump to the NCAA, Knapp spent time in the USHL (Tri-City Storm & Green Bay Gamblers) as well as the NAHL (Austin Bruins & Bismarck Bobcats).

With Knapp being the go-to guy recently, he has solidified himself as a key part of the Bulldogs' future. As someone who has been able to step in and hold his own against tough competition, Knapp will only continue to get better.
