Baby Boomers skewered by younger generation in Facebook group: 'Painfully accurate'

Ok, Boomer.

Millennials and Gen Zers seem to be having a bit of fun roasting their Baby Boomer counterparts in a Facebook group where they mimic their elders’ sometimes unruly online behavior.

The group, aptly titled “a group where we all pretend to be boomers (UNCENSORED),” is exactly what you’d expect it to be.

Blurry, accidental close-up selfies are aplenty. Comments about grandkids simply abound. Unsolicited, inappropriate comments run wild. You get the picture.

A TikTok showcasing some highlights from the group by user rlevv recently went viral with over 1 million views, causing the group to soar from 16,600 members to over 57,000 in just two days.

TikTokers seem particularly delighted by the generational divide highlighted by the mock posts.

“‘Bob are you coming over for dinner’ had me cry laughing,” one user wrote.

“This is my favorite thing I’ve seen all year,” said another.

“Dropped everything I’m doing to go join,” said a third. “I’ve never needed to be part of something more than this.”

“Painfully accurate,” noted another.

Although Millennials seem to be the ones driving this wave of social media ridicule, they were the ones being thrown under the bus by a younger generation not too long ago.

In June, Gen Z TikTok and Twitter users made a habit out of criticizing millennials for drinking wine and posting “cringey” ’90s kid’s memes, living in one-bedroom apartments, oversharing their “Harry Potter” houses and being obsessed with avocado toast.

As a Millennial myself, I can say all of those critiques are low-key justified.
