Milan Primavera 2-0 Cagliari: Liberali scores as Rossoneri clinch another league win
Milan Primavera clinched their third consecutive win after a strong performance against Cagliari, finding the back of the net twice. It was also yet another clean sheet kept for Federico Guidi’s men.
After three games without a win (1D, 2L), Milan have now certainly turned things around with three consecutive, beating Fiorentina, Hellas Verona last weekend and then Cagliari today. As such, they now sit at the top of the standings once again with 22 points after 11 games.
Today’s game was decided by goals from Mattia Liberali and Alessandro Bonomi, who combined brilliantly today. The first goal was scored by Liberali, following an assist from the other, and he made the opposing defender look foolish with a feint inside the box before tucking it in.
This was in the 29th minute, and just two minutes later, it was Liberali’s turn to assist Bonomi. The Futuro star found the forward in behind the defence with a great pass, and Bonomi made no mistakes as he rounded the goalkeeper and slotted it home.
Cagliari came close to a goal before the break, hitting the post, but the scores remained 2-0 as they headed into the break. In the second half, Cagliari saved a shot on the line as Bonomi nearly made it 3-0, but the three points were never in danger as the Rossoneri brought them all home.
Fiorentina will play tomorrow and could leapfrog Milan Primavera, but for now the latter are at the top.
