Milan Lucic PTO Report Denied By Metro Club
On Wednesday night, reports surfaced that the New Jersey Devils had signed former Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic to a professional tryout (PTO) agreement. However, the Devils have now quickly denied that.

The Devils had this to say on the matter, as relayed by New Jersey Hockey Now's James Nichols:
"Categorically untrue. His situation lies with the league. We haven’t and couldn’t sign him to a PTO."
Bob Stauffer of Oilers Now initially reported the Lucic PTO rumor but later corrected himself, as the Devils mentioned.
Lucic's second stint in Boston ended after four games after he was arrested for assault and battery back in November 2023. He entered the NHL Player Assistance Program after and did not return to the Bruins.
Lucic pleaded not guilty to the charges, and they were then dropped in February after his wife, Brittany, refused to testify against him. In addition, Brittany filed for divorce from Lucic back in April.
In 1,177 career NHL games split between the Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Calgary Flames, Lucic has 233 goals, 353 assists, 586 points, 1,301 penalty minutes, and 3,265 hits.
