Mikel Arteta’s leadership has put Arsenal in a strong position, but can he claim another Manager of the Month award?
Mikel Arteta has been shortlisted for January’s Barclays Manager of the Month award, marking his eighth career nomination.
The Arsenal boss guided his side through an unbeaten month in the Premier League, securing 11 points from a possible 15 to keep them in contention for the title.
Wins against Brentford, Wolves, and Tottenham, along with draws against Brighton and Aston Villa, underscored a strong start to the year for Arteta’s team.
The Arsenal manager faces competition from Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Eddie Howe (Newcastle United), and Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth).
Guardiola’s side dominated the month with 15 goals in four matches, while Iraola’s Bournemouth also enjoyed an unbeaten run, capped by a 5-0 demolition of Nottingham Forest.
Voting for the award closes on Monday, February 3, with fan votes contributing to the final decision alongside a panel of football experts.
If Arteta wins, he will move to joint-fifth in all-time Manager of the Month winners, further cementing his growing influence in the Premier League.
