Mike Glennon still gunning for starting role

Mike Glennon wasn't expected to start as a rookie in Tampa Bay.

But once it was clear Josh Freeman was no longer welcome with the front office (and ultimately traded), the Buccaneers were forced to hand over the reigns to Glennon. And honestly, he didn't fare as bad as expected, throwing 19 touchdowns to nine interceptions in 13 starts.

Even so, Glennon immediately lost his starting job when the Buccaneers signed veteran Josh McCown this offseason.

Speaking to The Tampa Bay Times, Glennon said he's not going down without a fight.

"I understand the NFL is a business and at different times you may have to take different roles," Glennon said. "But at the same time, that's not going to stop me from competing. I'm going to do whatever it takes to help this team win and that's the mindset so far.''
