What Are We To Make Of The Mika Zibanejad Mess?

I don't know about you, but I don't know what to make of what's going on with Mika Zibanejad.

We should know more tonight – that is, whether he takes his position at center against the San Jose Sharks at The Garden – or not!

If the club's designated number one center does not dress; then it will be apparent that something really IS wrong.

Although – unless we're right on top of the Blueshirts' medical team, that aspect will be – at least for a moment – remain a mystery.

On the other hand, should Magical Z take his regular turn, we can assume all the scare stories which have appeared are – just that – an exaggeration of a hockey player in some sort of slump.

Should that be the case, it would be perfectly natural for Mika to – as he has been doing – wonder what's happened to his once productive game.

At age 31, it very well could be that he's slipping. It happens. Then again, slumps are not unusual, but this one could be serious.

Until we get more facts, we'll wait and see, starting with whether he plays or not this evening.
