Blackburn Rovers have re-signed midfielder Jemima Dahou following a successful spell with the club last season.

The Lancashire side announced the news via a post on their official club X account this afternoon.

Dahou initially joined Blackburn Rovers from Barclays Women’s Super League giants Manchester City on a dual-registration basis last season. The 18-year-old made 13 appearances for Simon Parker’s side in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she scored one goal. Dahou impressed head coach Parker enough to earn a permanent deal with the club for 2024/2025.

The midfielder is a product of the Manchester City academy system. Dahou made her senior debut for The Cityzens as a subsitute in an 8-0 victory at Nottingham Forest in the early rounds of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup in 2021/2022. Since making her first senior appearance for Manchester City, Dahou has gone on to be given three further outings by head coach Gareth Taylor.

On the international stage, Dahou has represented England up to and including under-19 level. The player will now be hoping to push for further honours with the next Young Lionesses age group.

Dahou becomes Blackburn Rovers’ first signing of the summer transfer window. The club are expected to announce several more new additions in the coming weeks.
