Merced County deputies investigate stabbing. Victim reportedly tried to intervene in fight

Authorities are actively investigating a Merced County stabbing that sent a victim to the hospital.

On Saturday night, deputies responded to the 10300 block of Hyde Street in Le Grand for a report of a stabbing, according to a Merced County Sheriff’s Office social media post.

When deputies arrived, they located a male suffering from stab wounds. Detectives learned the victim was stabbed after a fight had broken out and he attempted to intervene. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of what authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau is investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 209-385-7472.
