McDonald's makes Angel Reese its first female athlete to get special meal, coming Feb. 10
WNBA star Angel Reese has scored a spicy special at McDonald's.
Starting Feb. 10, you can order the Angel Reese Special, which includes a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese topped with a new BBQ sauce, plus French fries and a drink.
Reese is an appropriate choice for the fast-food chain's first national meal collaboration with a female athlete. "McDonald’s has always been a big part of my life, from grabbing a McChicken Sandwich as a kid to being named a McDonald’s All American in 2020," Reese said in a press release announcing the meal.
"It’s really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be a part of McDonald’s amazing basketball legacy. I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes everywhere to never give up on pursuing their dreams," said Reese, who is currently playing for the Rose Basketball Club in the new three-on-three Unrivaled league.

The new smoky Bold BBQ Sauce is a "gamechanger," which brings a blend of "sweet, savory and a touch of spice," McDonald's says in the press release. The price of the Angel Reese Special is determined by each individual restaurant and may vary based on location, the company said.
Working with Reese continues the "real connection between McDonald’s and basketball fans,” said Jennifer “JJ” Healan, vice president of marketing, brand, content and culture at McDonald's, in a statement.
“We want to continue to fuel their love for the game and support athletes on and off the court," Healan said. "We’re excited to bring our legacy with basketball culture to a new generation, and partnering with Angel is only the beginning.”
While awaiting the arrival of the Angel Reese Special, McDonald's fans can order its $5 Meal Deal or from its new budget-friendly McValue menu, which has a "Buy One, Add One for $1" deal netting you one full-priced menu item and another for $1.
