Exeter City midfielder Kevin McDonald has signed a deal to stay with the League One side until the end of the season.

The 36-year-old former Scotland and Fulham player re-joined Exeter in November on a short-term deal having left Bradford City.

McDonald first moved to Exeter in January 2023 - where he scored three goals in 11 games - and stayed until the end of that season before heading to Bradford.

He had a spell as caretaker manager at the Bantams after Mark Hughes was sacked in October 2023 and played 23 times for the club.

He won five caps for Scotland in 2018 and has played 582 games across all four tiers of English football and the top two tiers in Scotland for 10 different sides.

"Kev is a fantastic influence on the squad and brings a lot of experience to the team," manager Gary Caldwell told the club website.

"We brought him in to mentor our younger midfielders, and Jake Richards in particular and Jake has had his best spell at the club since Kev has been with us.

"When called upon to play we have won both matches that Kev has started, so he's still got a lot to offer as a player."
