Mbappe’s season-altering conversation with Real Madrid president – ‘No one will regret my signing’
There has been a tangible improvement in Kylian Mbappe’s performances on the field in recent weeks as the Real Madrid marquee signing has appeared more calm in front of goal and decisive with his chances.
He is indeed still far from his best and Los Blancos have a lot to look forward to as he returns closer to his best version. However, one cannot deny that Mbappe is on the right path back.
From hitting absolute rock-bottom a few weeks ago after he missed two penalties for Real Madrid, it has been an impressive turnaround from the Frenchman who now has four goals and two assists in his last six games for the club.
A meeting with the president
As reported by MARCA, Mbappe spoke with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez just before the team’s game at San Mames and promised the president that he would make necessary changes in his approach.
He vowed to make alterations and adapt better to the pressure on the field and his performances in front of goal.
“No one will regret my signing,” he reportedly told Perez.
The conversation with Perez opened his eyes and showed him that he needed to take a step back and re-evaluate and his resurgence in recent games is only a result of the same.
Perez and the other Real Madrid hierarchy have maintained trust in Mbappe regardless of his numbers in recent months and have always been of the opinion that he will come good.
In fact, the Spanish outlet also relay that his teammates and Carlo Ancelotti have played a big role in helping him recover his form supporting him despite the team’s poor run of results.
Ancelotti’s talk to the team after the game against AC Milan, in fact, was the turning point that made him realize he has to step up as a leader or at least show that he is capable of leading the line under pressure.
From there to his chat with Perez before his disaster class against Athletic Club to now recovering his best version, Mbappe has come a long way and there are many more records for him to break.
