Real Madrid will lose Kylian Mbappé at least for the next three weeks after he picked up a thigh injury, but the French star should be back in time for his side’s clash against Milan in the Champions League.

Mbappé started all nine Real Madrid games in all competitions during this opening part of the season, but he was forced to limp off in the second half of the Blancos’ latest La Liga match against Alaves, which saw him score to inspire Carlo Ancelotti’s outfit to a 3-2 win.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia, an official statement released by Real Madrid reads that medical tests undergone by Mbappé on Wednesday confirmed a lesion to his left biceps femoris muscle.

Although his progress ‘will be monitored,’ the Frenchman is expected to be ruled out for at least three weeks. This means he will miss next weekend’s derby against city rivals Atletico Madrid.

October’s international break will give Mbappé time to recover, as Real Madrid expect to have him back for their away game at Celta Vigo on October 19.

However, the circled date on their calendar is October 26, when they’ll meet Barcelona in La Liga, hoping the French striker will fully fit by then.

If his recovery time is confirmed, Mbappé will also be available for Real Madrid’s Champions League clash against Milan, scheduled on November 5.

The former PSG forward has started his stint at the Santiago Bernabeu brightly. He scored seven goals from his first nine games in a Real Madrid shirt, playing in La Liga, the Champions League, and the European Supercup.
