Max Pacioretty Injured And Fraser Minten Returns To Maple Leafs Lineup Against Lightning, Other Injury Updates

The Toronto Maple Leafs had some good and not-so-good injury updates on Monday ahead of their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Max Pacioretty wasn't on the ice for the Maple Leafs' morning skate. The veteran forward was listed with an upper-body injury before the skate began. He played 10:19 in Toronto's 7-3 win on Saturday over the Montreal Canadiens.

Berube said following the team's morning session that Pacioretty is day-to-day with the injury. Pacioretty took an Auston Matthews shot to the ear on Saturday night in Montreal.

Fraser Minten returns to Toronto's lineup with the 36-year-old coming out with an ailment.

The 20-year-old centered the Maple Leafs' third line with Max Domi and Nick Robertson on his wings. Minten was recalled from the Marlies on Thursday after John Tavares went down with an injury at practice.

Before Toronto's morning skate got underway, a few of the team's injured players were seen on the ice.

Calle Jarnkrok was on the ice an hour before Monday's skate. He hasn't played this season after undergoing groin and sports hernia surgery on Nov. 18.

This wasn't the first time Jarnkrok had skated, though. Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube confirmed last Tuesday that the 33-year-old was on the ice before practice that day.

Jarkrok scored 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points in 52 games with the Maple Leafs last season. He's in the third season of a four-year, $8.4 million contract he signed with Toronto in July 2022.

Anthony Stolarz joined Jarnkrok on the ice Monday morning. The goaltender is continuing to work his way back from a knee procedure he had to remove a "loose body" in mid-December.

Stolarz isn't expected to return to the Maple Leafs' lineup until late January or early February. Although those dates are inching closer, we likely won't hear an update on his status until he's close to game action.

Before going down with his injury, Stolarz was one of the league's top goaltenders this season. His .927 save percentage through 17 games this year remains one of the top save percentages in the NHL.
