Matthew Ryan introduces himself to Roma fans: “I can’t wait to help the team.”

Australian goal-keeper Matthew Ryan is the latest addition to Daniele De Rossi’s squad.

The veteran shot-stopper was announced earlier today as Roma’s third signing of the summer.

In his first interview with the club, Ryan discussed what Roma fans can expect from him.

“Thanks for the welcome. My first sensations are obviously of great enthusiasm,” he said.

“I want to thank the club and the owners for giving me the chance to be here. I have already felt strong support from the fans and I can’t wait to receive even more.”

“Coach Daniele has certainly done very well so far. Since he took over last season, he has achieved excellent results in Europe, taking the team to the semi-finals. We can say that he is a coach who has an important career ahead of him.”

“I can’t wait to help him and the team achieve their goals for the season,” he added.
