Matthew Lahey Commits To Michigan State
Fargo Force defenseman Matthew Lahey has committed to Michigan State, it was announced Wednesday.
Lahey, a 2024 seventh round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs, is in his first USHL season with the Force, having collected one goal and seven points through 25 games this season.
A product of Victoria, B.C., Lahey made the move to the Force this offseason after spending the past two seasons playing for the BCHL's Nanaimo Clippers. During the 2023-24 season, Lahey put up two goals and 19 points in 54 regular season games.
Although Lahey has two seasons of junior eligibility remaining after this year, he will make the move to Michigan State in 2025. With a game centred around his ability to shut down offensive chances, Lahey can still contribute on the offensive end when needed. With his skillset in both ends, he will be a solid addition to the Spartans.
