Matt Eberflus sees high confidence in Bears despite 2 straight losses
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus is not losing hope, even after two consecutive losses that have been the worst of the season. Several controversies have surrounded the team over their past two weeks, and the biggest calls have been for changes on the coaching staff, including Eberflus' position as head coach.
Not an organization to make a change in the middle of season, the Bears are currently riding along with who they have in the building, and not all hope is lost in Halas Hall. On Monday, Eberflus spoke to the media about the current state of the team, who lost on the infamous Hail Mary to the Commanders in Week 8, and showed little life in a one-sided loss to the Cardinals in Week 9 last week, and he believes in the team's confidence.
"The confidence is high," Eberflus said, via Marquee Bears. "...We've won some and we've lost some."
It's a very nonchalant response for a coach who has heard for him to be fired from his job over the past two losses, and has yet to win a road game during his tenure as Bears head coach. After a three-game winning streak, it felt as if the team could've turned a corner and projected to cause stir up some drama in the NFC, but now they've come back down to Earth with utter disappointment.
Eberflus' comments also come at the same time in which linebacker T.J. Edwards revealed that there was another team meeting where they addressed not playing up to their standards. However, it doesn't seem to matter to the head coach who sees a high confidence in his team.
