Mats Hummels interested in Bologna move

Mats Hummels is willing to work out a contract with Serie A Bologna.

According to a report by Sky Italia via Daniele Longo, former Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels is ready to negotiate an agreement with Bologna this summer. The German can be signed on a free transfer after leaving the Signal Iduna Park dwellers following the expiry of his contract.

Bologna’s technical director Giovanni Sartori is firmly aiming to sign the 35-year-old who came close to winning the Champions League last season but lost it to Real Madrid. However, he demonstrated a colossal defensive display which makes him a hot property for clubs looking for an experienced defender at a cut price.

The Emilian club are waiting for Arsenal to complete the Riccardo Calafiori deal to launch an approach for Hummels. He has already said no to advances from Saudi Arabia as he wants a top challenge in Europe.
