The deal for Matias Soulé is practically closed as Roma and Juventus have finalized the last details of the agreement.

The 21-year-old will join Roma on the basis of €30 million including add-ons and a percentage for Juve on the player’s future resale (10%).

According to Il Messaggero, Daniele De Rossi had wanted Soulé at all costs and was willing to wait longer than usual for the deal to go through.

Soulé’s agent was in Rome on Thursday in order to smooth out the remaining contractual formalities: his client is set to sign a five-year deal until 2029 and is expected shortly in the Italian capital to undergo his medical.

Versatility was the key word in Roma’s search for a player of Soulé’s quality: Matias can also act as a central striker. In one fell swoop, Roma finds itself a starter at home, or an alternative to Pellegrini, the same as Dybala or, at the moment unlikely, as a left winger, in the role of El Shaarawy. Last year he also played alongside a striker, or behind him.
