Mathew Ward Commits To Northern Michigan
Medicine Hat Tigers forward Mathew Ward has committed to Northern Michigan, it was announced earlier this week.
A native of Kamloops, British Columbia, Ward has recorded 29 points (11 goals, 18 assists) in 38 regular season games for the Tigers this season in what is his final season of WHL eligibility.
Ward was drafted 14th overall by the Swift Current Broncos in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft. In four-plus seasons for the Broncos, Ward recorded 208 points in 199 regular season games. Ward was traded to the Tigers during the 2024 draft.
Expected to make the jump to Northern Michigan for the 2025-26 season, Ward is an intelligent player who knows to bury pucks.
