Massage therapist Brad McLellan facing 4 new sex assault charges

Four more women have come forward accusing a Calgary massage therapist of sexual assault during their appointments.

Brad McLellan, 46, faces four new charges of sexual assault stemming from incidents between October to December, 2015.

"He's incredibly upset about this and denies any allegation of impropriety," said McLellan's lawyer, Cory Wilson.

Wilson appeared in court today on McLellan's behalf to extend his bail conditions on his new charges so the massage therapist will be allowed to stay in the community pending trial.

He is not allowed to leave the province and can't have contact with any of the complainants or Centennial Wellness, the clinic where he rented a space at the time of the alleged assaults.

The new allegations all came in after police released McLellan's name and details of the original complaint in December.

In January, three more women came forward to police, bringing the total number of charges at that point to four. Now, McLellan faces eight counts of sexual assault.

After his arrest in December, investigators said McLellan may have worked professionally with Hockey Canada and the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Games in the past and may have also treated skeleton and bobsled athletes.

Staff Sgt. Bev Voros of the Calgary Police Service Sex Crimes Unit says it's not common for massage therapists to be charged with sexual assault.

McLellan will be back in court on March 24.
