Martin Odegaard Norway call-up decision made
Martin Odegaard has been left out of Norway’s squad for the upcoming international break, as Arsenal’s first call-ups start to come in.
Though he’s back in training with Arsenal and hoping to play a part for the team this week, Martin Odegaard isn’t set to be involved with Norway over the international break.
Norway named their squad on Tuesday morning, and Odegaard wasn’t in it, following talks between the national side and Arsenal over the player’s availability.
Norway boss Stale Solbakken had riled up a few Arsenal fans with comments late last month, stating that the national side had a “legitimate hope” that the player would be ready for the November break.
With Odegaard having suffered his two-month injury on international duty in September, the idea of the player returning to action with his national team before playing for his club side was particularly aggravating.
It seems club and country have now agreed that the best thing for the player is to continue with a slow reintegration over the next few weeks, rather than flying off to Slovenia and Norway for internationals.
In other news, Karl Hein has been called up by Estonia, with Gabriel Magalhaes already having been called up by Brazil.
