Did Martha Stewart and Justin Bieber accidentally leak a new Maple Leafs jersey?

Martha Stewart posted a picture of her and Justin Bieber on Wednesday in which she wished the Canadian pop star a happy 28th birthday.

While the post was seemingly harmless at first glance, some NHL fans noticed Bieber was wearing a never-before-seen Toronto Maple Leafs jersey in the photo. This caused plenty of speculation from fans that it may be the jersey the Leafs are planning to unveil for their final Next Gen game, which is set to take place on March 21 against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Scotiabank Arena.

For those unfamiliar, the Next Gen game is something the Leafs have done for many years. It allows kids the opportunity to hit the ice prior to the start of the game, and also lets them do some pre-game announcing and interviewing of players.

If that jersey is indeed what the Maple Leafs will be wearing, it isn’t the only unique sweater they will don this season. They recently revealed sweaters for their upcoming 2022 Heritage Classic game, which will take place on March 13 versus the Buffalo Sabres. Toronto will also be wearing its festive St. Patrick’s Day uniforms on March 17 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Neither Bieber nor anyone from the Leafs organization has commented on the photo to this point. Given how big of a Maple Leafs fan he is, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if this is indeed the jersey they plan to wear for their Next Gen game, though we can't say for certain.

Perhaps Bieber will need to be more careful next time in order to make sure the team itself is able to reveal its newly designed sweater on its own terms. At the very least the singer can probably expect to get an earful from his good buddy Auston Matthews.
