Marseille reject Crystal Palace’s opening bid for Ismaila Sarr

Pushed towards the exit from Olympique de Marseille only one year after his transfer from Watford, Ismaila Sarr (26) could return to the Premier League, as Crystal Palace is pushing forward for the Senegal international. However, their first offer to Marseille for the wantaway winger has been rejected, says Fabrizio Romano.

Sarr’s journey to Marseille may already have come to an end after a sole and disappointing season. Transferred last summer from Watford on a €13M deal, the Senegal international only managed to score five goals and six assists in 35 appearances under the blue and white jersey. With the recent nomination of Olivier Glasner as the new club’s manager, Crystal Palace is ready to build a team that could suit the Austrian tactician and have set their sights on the Marseille winger following Michael Ollise’s transfer to Bayern Munich. With Sarr having been transfer listed by Marseille, both parties are now in talks to find an agreement.

According to a report by Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace have stepped up their interest in Sarr, as they have submitted a first proposal to Marseille, which has been rejected by Les Phocéens. The negotiations are still ongoing, and the Eagles could return with a new proposal as the Senegal international is keen on a return to Premier League.
