Olympique de Marseille are pursuing a move to sign French U23 international right-back Kiliann Sildillia (22) from Bundesliga side Freiburg, according to a report from Le Parisien. The 22-year-old is currently with Thierry Henry’s Olympic football team. He started France’s opening game against the USA, which Les Bleuets won 3-0 at Marseille.

Les Phocéens are interested in signing Sildillia as a replacement for France international right-back Jonathan Clauss (31) who just signed for Ligue 1 rivals OGC Nice. The outlet understands that Marseille have already submitted an undisclosed bid to Freiburg for the signing of Sildillia, whose contract with the German outfit is set to expire in 2026.

Le Parisien adds that Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi has greenlit the club’s pursuit of Sildillia. The latter is reportedly keen to join the Ligue 1 side after initial exchanges with the Italian manager and the club’s Sporting advisor Mehdi Benatia. Sildillia reportedly informed Freiburg of his desire to sign for Marseille.
