Yahoo Sports Marseille expect to receive between €9-10 million for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Pierre-Emerick Aubamyeang (35) earlier today announced his departure from Olympique de Marseille through his social media. Over the last week, it had been reported that a deal had been reached between the striker and Al-Qadsiah for a two-year contract.
However, an agreement between the Saudi Arabian side and Marseille had not yet been finalised, with Pablo Longoria blocking the move until the veteran striker informed him personally of his intentions to leave. This issue looks to have been sorted, and according to La Provence, Marseille expect that they will sell Aubameyang for between €9 to €10 million.
Search for an Aubameyang replacement begins in earnest
This fee would be a welcome boost to the club’s coffers, especially with the Gabonese international entering the final year of a contract that was reportedly the largest in the Marseille squad. Marseille will soon have to turn their attention to finding a replacement for Aubameyang with the club linked to moves for Alexis Sánchez (35) and Eddie Nketiah (25).
