Mark Giordano speaks about his season-ending injury

Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano spoke with the media today for the first time since suffering his season-ending injury.

"I think the timing was tough, probably one of the tougher ones, if not, I'd say the toughest of my career," Giordano said.

Giordano was hurt in the dying seconds of a game on Feb. 25. He hasn't played since.

Flames general manager Brad Treliving announced on Monday that Giordano will miss the remainder of the season to repair a torn bicep tendon in his left arm.

The injury is a severe blow for the Flames' playoff chances. They are in a battle for a final spot with 20 games remaining in their season.
