Marc-Andre Fleury Will Start One Final Time In Montreal

Minnesota Wild head coach John Hynes said that Marc-Andre Fleury will start against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday for what will be his final time in Montreal.

Fleury, 40, was born in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, about an hour north of Montreal. There is no doubt he will be honored during the game.

Last time Fleury was in Montreal he received a standing ovation in the Wild's 5-2 win in October of 2023.

Now, Fleury has made it clear that this is his last year before he retires. So unless the Canadiens and the Wild meet in the Stanley Cup finals this year, this will be Fleury's last game in Montreal.

In his career at the Bell Centre, where Montreal plays, Fleury is 12-6-3 with a 2.67 goals-against average, .911 save percentage and two shutouts in 21 games.

The future Hall of Fame goaltender is 10-5-1 on the year with a 2.76 GAA and a .904 save percentage.
