Marc-Andre Fleury explains why he gave Sharks player's stick to fan during game
Just when you thought one of the NHL’s biggest rivalries couldn’t get any more fun, Marc-Andre Fleury raises the bar.
The Golden Knights’ notorious prankster pulled a fast one on the San Jose Sharks on Friday night when he sneakily picked up a an opponent’s stick during a fight and gave it away to a fan.

Fleury was asked about the incident after the game, and his reply was nothing short of classic.
I asked Marc-Andre Fleury about giving the stick to a fan during the fights and he laughed.
“It was broken right? No? We’ll just say it was broken.” #VegasBorn— Jesse Granger (@JesseGranger_) October 5, 2019
Regardless if the stick was broken or not, it’s a priceless souvenir for any Sharks fan.
This rivalry is likely to remain quite heated, especially after the Golden Knights blew the Sharks out of the water in back-to-back games to start the season. But if it needed a shot in the arm, Fleury’s stunt will probably make for great bulletin board material in San Jose’s locker room.
