Maple Leafs’ William and Alex Nylander Tee Off in Stockholm, Pictured Playing Golf in Recent Instagram Stories
The Nylander brothers hit the links on Wednesday.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forwards, both known for their skills on the ice, showcased their talents on the golf course in numerous recent Instagram stories enjoying a round at ‘Bro Hof Slott Golf Club’ in Stockholm, Sweden. As displayed in a series of posts, the Nylanders were among a group of eight individuals, all wearing apparel from the Stockholm-based golf brand, ‘GOATLANE’.

As stated on the brand's website, “The brand has been created to inspire confidence and speak to an overall mindset of living your best life both on and off the course. Through the principles of quality, heritage, and exclusivity combined with modern style GOATLANE is more than just a lifestyle, it’s a state of being.”
Older brother William has had a busy summer, vacationing, attending Wimbledon, and spending time in his native Sweden – training for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
You can now add golf to the list of summer activities, as the Swede was shown swinging on the tee deck.
Younger brother Alex was also in attendance for the event, making it a family affair on the golf course Wednesday.
Alex, who recently signed a one-year, AHL contract with the Toronto Marlies, seems eager for the opportunity to potentially play alongside his brother in the NHL. The deal with the Marlies represents a chance to compete for an NHL deal out of training camp in the fall. While nothing is guaranteed, Nylander is determined to prove his worth for a chance to showcase the brothers’ chemistry at the NHL level.
In interviews with TSN's Mark Masters and Postmedia's Lance Hornby, the 26-year-old told Hornby, "I can’t wait for that chance to come. But I know I have to prove myself first. It’s been a long wait to get back on the ice. I hope to come to Toronto in early September (to join the summer skates prior to the main training camp)."
He also told Masters, "We're kind of similar players. We both can shoot and like to pass at the same time. We both like to hold onto the pucks and make plays from there. I kind of know what he's going to try to do. He's so good, so he can just find you whenever. Our chemistry is good."
As for ‘Willy Styles,’ in 2023-24, he tied his career-high in goals, putting up his second 40-goal season in a row. He also achieved career-highs in assists (58) and points (98), nearly hitting the 100-point mark this season. In the club’s opening-round playoff series loss to the Boston Bruins, he added three goals in four games.
His stellar play earned him an eight-year, $92 million contract extension with a full no-movement clause and an average annual value of $11.5 million per season.
For now, he seems to be enjoying some downtime ahead of an important 2024-25 season, as seen on the Instagram account, ‘erik_modin.’
Time will tell if we see the Nylander brothers in action together on the biggest stage. For now, they’re keeping their competitive edge alive on the golf course before heading back to Toronto for training camp in a few weeks.
