Maple Leafs unveil special edition Stadium Series sweaters
The Toronto Maple Leafs haveofficially unveiled the sweaters they’ll wear for their upcoming Stadium Series outdoor game in Maryland on March 3.
The Maples Leafs and the Washington Capitals will face off at the Navy-Marine Memorial Stadium, which has a capacity of about 34,000.
Not only will the game have a nautical feel to it, being hosted at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, but Toronto also used the Royal Canadian Navy as inspiration for the design of these special edition jerseys; with the Navy’s motto “Ready, Aye, Ready” on the neckline, and “Honour. Pride. Courage.” on the sleeves.
Bringing together two teams, the Stadium Series sweater honours the incredible traditions of the @RCN_MRC and the @MapleLeafs.

But other than the small nod to the Canadian Navy, the sweaters are somewhat predictable. They kind of look like the regular blue and white jerseys, but in reverse with the blue lines slightly shifted up — not the greatest work of any creative geniuses.
There’s nothing wrong with them per say, just a bit of a yawn.
See the details.
