Maple Leafs' Travis Dermott is ready for his first playoffs
After a long and gruelling 82 game season, the playoffs have finally arrived in the National Hockey League. Although Toronto is a relatively young team, Leafs defenseman Travis Dermott represents the only player on the current roster who has yet to have a taste of the post-season; something the youngster can’t wait to change.
“You dream about this growing up,” the Leafs blueliner said. “You don’t play to win a championship in the regular season, the playoffs are when it really comes down to it.”
Dermott’s dreams will come true Thursday night as the Maple Leafs battle the Bruins in Boston for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. The young defenceman’s role is very important as the Leafs defence will have their hands full with a potent Bruins offense.
