Maple Leafs sporting special Armed Forces warm-up jerseys
The Leafs will be donning some new threads ahead of their Hockey Night in Canada clash with the Chicago Blackhawks.
In honour of Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Night, the club announced earlier this evening that players will be donning special themed jerseys for warm-ups on Saturday night. Following the game, the jerseys will then be put up for auction, with all proceeds going towards “Soldier On” — a program established by the Armed Forces to assist both current and former soldiers in their battles with permanent mental or physical illnesses or injuries.

It’s a nice gesture by the team, one done with the intent to help a good cause. Hockey could use more of that.
