Maple Leafs invite Brandon Prust to training camp on PTO

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello confirmed Monday that the team has invited forward Brandon Prust to training camp on a professional tryout.

The 32-year-old Canadian forward spent last season with the Vancouver Canucks before being sent down to their AHL affiliate in Utica. In March, the organization announced that Prust was shut down for the remainder of the season due to a nagging ankle injury.

Prust became an unrestricted free agent on July 1 and has yet to sign a new contract with an NHL team.

Prior to his time with the Canucks, the nine-year NHL veteran suited up for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Phoenix Coyotes and Calgary Flames.

In 486 career NHL games, the London, Ont., native has 40 goals, 70 assists and 1,036 penalty minutes.

The Maple Leafs also announced they have extended a professional tryout to 23-year-old defenceman Raman Hrabarenka. The Belarussian has played in just one NHL game in his career, which took place with the New Jersey Devils.

Earlier Monday, Toronto also announced the signing of veteran goalie Jhonas Enroth.
