Maple Leafs' Connor Dewar And Max Pacioretty To Miss Game Against Blue Jackets And Other Injury Updates
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Connor Dewar did not take part in the club's practice and will not be in the lineup for his team hosts the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday, either.
The forward sustained an upper-body injury in Toronto's 5-3 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning. It's not clear exactly what the injury is, however, the forward was limited to just one shift in the third period.
Dewar took a pretty nasty hit from Lightning forward Luke Glendening that got him high in the head.
Craig Berube says Connor Dewar is day to day with an upper body injury and will not play tomorrow. Max Pacioretty will also not play.

Dewar has three assists in 29 games this season, averaging 10:07 of ice time. Forced to miss the season's first month due to an off-season shoulder injury, the forward has become a dependable fourth-liner who can play center or win and contribute on the penalty kill. Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube put a "day-to-day-timeline on the 25-year-old after the player missed practice.
Pacioretty to miss second straight game with upper-body injury.
Max Pacioretty remained off the ice at practice after missing Monday's game. The forward took a puck to the head area while trying to tip a point shot from Auston Matthews.
The 36-year-old remains day-to-day and will not play on Wednesday.
Pacioretty has five goals and seven assists in 32 games this season. He's games away from unlocking the final games-played bonus in his one-year deal.
Tavares yet to hit the ice after injury at practice.
The Maple Leafs have been without John Tavares after the forward was injured in practice last week. The forward has yet to skate since his leg got crossed up with Chris Tanev in a power-play drill and there doesn't appear to be a set timeline for his return.
"He hasn't been on the ice yet. So hopefully that'll happen soon," Berue said. Get him on the ice and get him going. See how he feels. So I really don't have a timeline for you with that one right now."
Tavares has enjoyed a resurgence this season, scoring 20 goals and adding 22 assists in 44 games.
Stolarz continues to skate
Anthony Stolarz is into his fifth week of being out of the lineup after he underwent a procedure to remove a loose body in his knee. The goaltender has been on the ice in the last week but not with his teammate, just fielding shots from goaltending coach Curtis Sanford.
"Next week might get more active in the net. You know, start moving, going up and down and things like that. So we've got to take it day-to-day here and see," Berube said. "It's all about how he feels and where he's at with his movements. So, but he's on track. So he's doing well."
Stolarz was having a breakout season with Toronto by posting a .927 save percentage in 17 games this season. The initial timeline put on Stolarz' injury was four-to-six weeks.
When will Jani Hakanpaa play again?
The 6-foot-7 defenseman has been active at Maple Leafs practice as of late. Limited to just two games this season, there's a curiosity from Team Finland to see how effective the player could be for the upcoming 4 Nations tournament.
"He had a good practice today, He looked like he was moving well," Berube said. "That's a feel thing for him and where he's at. I'm hoping that he can keep practicing with us and not have to take two days off. We need to get some consistency there at practice and get him going."
