Maple Leafs Blow Past Habs, Stars Prevent Jets From Making History in Saturday Best Bets

Saturday has a loaded slate of NHL action that should give us plenty of opportunities to hit it big on our Best Bets. The Winnipeg Jets look to make history when taking on the Dallas Stars before the Leafs battle the Habs in a primetime matchup worthy of their age old rivalry. The night caps off with a thrilling showdown between the Oilers and Canucks.

We look to build off another shocking win last night when we correctly predicted the underdog Seattle Kraken would take down the Vegas Golden Knights. We hope to build off the win and continue staying in the green.

Bet: Stars ML (-110), Stars Jets Over 6.0 goals (-105)

The Jets look to be the first team in NHL history to win 14 of their first 15 games. It'll be tough going up against the Dallas Stars, who have beaten them in seven of their last ten matchups. This game will be a true test for the Jets offence that is scoring the most goals per game this season with a 4.50 average.

They'll be squaring off against a Stars backend that ranks seventh-best in goals against average at 2.77 since last season. The Jets also have an elite backend with the best goals against average this season at 2.14 and will look to continue the streak of the under hitting in this matchup.

These two Stanley Cup contenders have totaled under six goals in four straight matchups makes this betting line a very close call.

Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck is due for a below average game as the reigning-Vezina trophy winner has been unbelievable with back-to-back shutouts heading into Saturday.

He is well over due for some regression and in eight of his last ten games against the Stars, he's allowed three or more goals. The Jets top offence should respond to this and push the game to the over.

Bet: Leafs -1.5 (+125), Canadiens Leafs Under 6.5 goals (-115)

The Habs have severely struggled on defence with the worst goals against average at 4.07 so far this season. It presents a solid chance for a struggling Leafs offence to finally hit their groove. They've regressed from their second-best goals per game average at 3.63 last season to 3.07 which is outside the top-16 teams.

They will be without star forward Auston Matthews however but it shouldn't hurt them as bad as people think with the Leafs winning six straight games without him in the lineup. Toronto has won five of their last six matchups versus Montreal and will look to make up for their 1-0 loss to them earlier this season.

Since 2018, the Leafs have faced the Habs twice without Matthews, winning both games by a combined score of 6-1 due to their impeccable defence.

The Leafs backend has significantly improved under new bench boss Craig Berube and it's resulted in more games falling towards the under. Toronto has totaled under seven goals in ten of their 15 games so far this season. This game shouldn't be close as the Leafs earn the victory in a big way.

Bet: Senators Bruins Over 5.5 goals (-115), Senators ML (+120)

We normally like to diverge from the public with our picks, however I believe they may be right about the total for the homecoming of Linus Ullmark to Boston Saturday. According to Action Network, 68 per cent of the bets are for the over and I couldn't agree more as main storyline around this game will be the goaltender matchup.

Meanwhile, both have been struggling to start the season with goals against averages over three and team averages over 3.23 per game. The Bruins have been an overall mess with both their offence and defence landing outside the top 24 teams in the NHL.

They have started to turn things around lately however with wins in three of their first four games to start November. This is a perfect spot for the Senators here as their offence hasn't slowed down with a 3.46 goals per game average which lands them in the top ten offences.

They should flip on the public as 86 per cent of the moneyline bets are on the Bruins when the Senators won 3-1 in their last matchup. I expect a shocking Senators win that sees them rally around their new goaltender.
