Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews gets massive lion tattoo (Photo)
Auston Matthews has another two years left on his rookie contract, but that doesn’t mean the Maple Leafs superstar can’t get inked.
The soon-to-be Calder Trophy winner celebrated his 40-goal rookie season with a massive, triumphant tattoo of a lion on his right shoulder. The tattoo artist recently shared a photo of the impressive work on Instagram.

Pretty impressive work, especially with the eyes. Yet artistry aside, this tattoo presents a lot of questions. Like, why the crown? If he was going for the whole “king of the jungle” thing, wouldn’t just the lion be enough? So many questions.
And as you’d expect, the Twitterverse had plenty of hot takes once news of Matthews’ tattoo hit social media.
