Manu Koné reaches verbal agreement with AC Milan over a potential transfer
Sky Germany reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné has reached a verbal agreement with AC Milan over a potential move to the side.
Although Koné has reached an agreement with Milan, Gladbach have yet to receive an official offer for the 23-year-old with the deadline on Friday.
Gladbach are demanding a total package of €25m for Koné, with €20m being the fixed fee and then €5m to be paid in bonuses. The midfielder’s contract at Gladbach expires in 2026, after being automatically extended by a year last summer.
Koné was recently not in Gladbach’s squad for their 3-2 loss to Bayer Leverkusen on the Bundesliga opening day, due to the prospect of a potential move away from Borussia Park. The midfielder has also recently only returned from the Olympics with France where he won silver.
If the 23-year-old does leave Gladbach, they have enough midfielders to provide cover for him as was seen during the loss.
