Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

It's all over and Manchester United sign off at Old Trafford for the season with a 3-2 win in an extremely entertaining clash. Mainoo put the hosts in front at the break but Gordon put Newcastle level early in the second half. Diallo's fine finish restored the lead for Man United and substitute Hojlund scored just 106 seconds after coming off the bench to seemingly put the game beyond doubt. But Hall's excellent strike for Newcastle - whose xG of 2.32 was better than the home side's 1.44 - in injury time ensured there were a few last-minute nerves. Ultimately, though, Man United held out and they are now eighth in the table, level on 57 points with Newcastle in seventh, albeit the Magpies have a significantly better goal difference.
