Manchester United have had no other choice but to suspend ticket sales after falling victim to a cyber-attack.

A global IT outage issue has affected United’s ability to sell tickets, leaving supporters frustrated as the website failed to load.

It’s an inconvenience for supporters making access to the ticketing website a greater obstacle than what it needs to be.

This is all down to a Microsoft issue which has affected companies across the world as well as other Premier League clubs.

Manchester United confirmed that their ticketing website had been hit. In a statement on X, United’s matchday account wrote: “Unfortunately, due to a global Microsoft Servers outage which is affected many systems, including ours, this morning’s ticket release will be postponed until midday.

“The website will also remain unavailable until the issue is resolved. Further updates will be provided here, including any further potential delays.”

Crystal Palace also confirmed they had been hit by the outage, writing the following on social media: “Due to the global issue affected Microsoft systems, on-sale for Brentford v Crystal Palace tickets have been delayed until Monday (10:00).

“We are unfortunately unable to process ticket sales either online or over the phone, so please do not call the box office. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Sky Sports News hit panic stations when they were left unable to broadcast live, which forced them to show pre-recorded content rather than breaking news, as per The Sun.

Meanwhile, Liverpool raised concerns about a cyber-attack of their own on Thursday before suspending ticket sales for members.
