Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, PSG have decided to let the French striker leave the club next month. They are now open to discussing his exit conditions.

PSG manager Luis Enrique has no faith in Muani, leading to the club’s decision to dispose of him, alongside Milan Skriniar.

The 26-year-old has started two games across all competitions this season and has not been named in the matchday three times including the last two Ligue 1 games.

He was supposed to lead the attack in the absence of Goncalo Ramos but Enrique preferred to use other options. Ramos’ return to fitness has made him slide further down the pecking order.

After making his breakthrough with Eintracht Frankfurt, he joined PSG but the move has not gone as planned. He has won three titles with them but has played a bit-part role since joining the club.

Man United have been linked with the France international. They are reportedly in contact with PSG over signing him on loan for the rest of the season.

PSG’s readiness to let him leave could help facilitate a move for him to join the Red Devils next month.

Muani would be a risky signing for Man United

The Red Devils’ need to bolster their attack but they need to do so with proven forwards

They signed Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, two unproven talents, recently but none has failed to produce the goods consistently.

Muani is not better than Hojlund and Zirkzee, which should be enough to stop United from signing him.

He has two goals in Ligue 1 but stats have revealed that he should have scored at least two more goals

He knows how to get into goal scoring as he is averaging 1.17 expected goals per 90 in the Ligue 1 this season, the most in the PSG squad but his finishing has let him down.

His huge miss in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final againt Argentina prevented France from becoming back-to-back world champions.

Manager Ruben Amorim needs a striker that will hit the ground running quickly. Muani’s performance at PSG makes it highly unlikely that he can do so.
