Manchester United Launch €45M Bid for PSG Midfield Star to Strengthen Squad

Manchester United are considering Manuel Ugarte to bolster their midfield this summer. Journalist Christopher Michel recently reported that the Red Devils are now pushing to sign Ugarte.

The French club wants £50 million, while the Premier League side believes £35 million is realistic. Still, Michel’s report states that the two clubs could meet in the middle.

Moreover, Le10Sport reported on Monday that manager Luis Enrique is now in charge of the decision regarding Ugarte. Initially, PSG wasn’t looking to sell. However, given the interest, the club has been listening to offers.

The English side’s proposal, which is said to be €45 million plus several bonuses, has prompted internal discussions. Enrique must now decide. He can either veto the move and ask the management to reject all offers or allow Ugarte to leave and rebuild his midfield without him.

Once Uruguay’s run in the 2024 Copa América ends, Ugarte’s future should be more transparent. The 23-year-old scored the game-clinching goal in the penalty kick shootout that sent La Celeste to the semifinals.

If Ugarte performs well against Colombia and a potential Copa América final, Manchester United or any club could decide to make an offer.
